IBD pB2 "Election sell off continues; Obama, Fed fail to inspire" by Paul Whitfield says stocks dug a deeper hole Wed unable to find any encouragement from the Fed Res minutes, a pres'l press conference or economic data.  The market was sharply down in higher volume and is still in a correction.

USA Today p1b "Market's downdraft strengthens" by matt Krantz says stocks are starting to get a major case of vertigo as investors stare down the fiscal cliff.

NYT pB11 "Shares fall after Obama's tax remarks" by AP says investors drew little hope Wed for a quick compromise in budget talks after Obama said that higher taxes on wealthy Americans would have to be part of any deal.  Cisco said late Tues its earning rose 18% in the latest quarter and that US firms were starting to spend again.

Fin Times p22 "US equities fall to lowest level since July as Obama speaks on economy" by Arash Massoudi says US equities fell to their lowest level since July during a steep afternoon sell off that began as Obama spoke about the US economy and the upcoming negotiations to prevent the fiscal cliff of spending cuts & tax hikes.  Cisco climbed 6.2% after it hailed a recovery in US demand for its products.  Bank of America lost 3.6% to put it among the worst performing bluge bracket Wall St banks for the day.
