In a story on the front page of NYTimes Sunday Bus. p1 Mozilla's open source Firefox is discussed as having taken major market share from MSFT's browser Internet Explorer (my nephew, Blake Ross, was they key architect of Mozilla.) Barron's p6, Alan Abelson, says MSFT doesn't put spin on their earnings and instead of getting rewarded they get punished fro heir forrightedness. MSFT had low 2Q earnings, off 29%, and the ifst full year of lower sales, by 3%, since it went public in '86.
