The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed Wednesday at 17751.39 up 121.12 or 0.69% from Tuesday's close of 17630.27. Of the 30 Dow components 26 gained, UnitedHealth was unchanged and 3 declined. The biggest gainer dollar-wise was Boeing up $2.33 and percentage-wise was Microsoft up 2.1%. The biggest decliner dollar-wise was Caterpillar down 45 cents and percentage-wise was DuPont down 0.79%.
As of the open of the market on Wednesday the current divisor for the Dow Jones Industrial Average found at page C5 of Wednesday's Wall St. Journal is 0.14967727343149. Wednesday's trailing P/E ratio is 16.43 up from yesterday's trailing P/E ratio of 16.21 (last year it was 16.32). Today's P/E estimate is 15.91 unchanged from Tuesday's P/E estimate of 15.91 (year ago it was 15.13) and today's dividend yield is 2.40 down from yesterday's dividend yield of 2.43 (last year it was 2.16). The Dow Jones Industrial Average: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed Tuesday at 17630.27 up 189.68 or 1.09% from Monday's close of 17440.59. For the year the Dow is down 1.08%. Of the 30 Dow components 27 gained, Cisco was unchanged and 2declined. The biggest gainer dollar-wise was UnitedHealth up $3.64 and percentage-wise was Exxon up 4.06%. The biggest decliner dollar-wise and percentage-wise was DuPont down 83 cents or 1.46%.
