The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed Monday at 18070.40 up 46.32 or 0.26% from Friday's close of 18024.06.  For the year the Dow is up 1.39%  Of the 30   Dow components    gained and     declined.  The  biggest gainer dollar-wise  and percentage-wise was %.  The  biggest decliner dollar-wise  and percentage-wise was %.

As of the open of  the market on Tuesday the current divisor for the Dow Jones Industrial Average found at page C5 of  Tuesday's Wall St. Journal is 0.14985889030177.  Tuesday's trailing P/E   ratio is 16.57 up from Friday's   trailing P/E ratio of  16.42 (last year it was 16.12).  Monday's P/E estimate is 16.30 unchanged from Friday's P/E estimate of 16.30 (year ago it was 14.71) and  Monday's dividend yield is 2.25 up from  Friday's dividend yield of  2.25 (last year it was 2.16). The Dow's all-time high was 18288.63 on March 2,  2015. The 12 year low close for the Dow was on March 9, 2009 when it fell to 6,547.05.

Monday's Dow Jones Industrial Average numerator is 2707.99 up 692 from Friday's average numerator of 2701.07.   This is the sum of all 30 closing prices. A short cut to the Dow numerator is to multiply the closing Dow by the Divisor. Now, if you divide the Dow numerator change for today by the divisor (0.14985889030177) you get the change in today's Dow. A dollar increase or decrease in a Dow stock results in a $6.67  change in the Dow Index.

The average closing price (the closing numerator divided by 30) of  Monday's Dow Jones Industrial Average was $90.27 down 23 cents from Wednesday's closing average of $90.04.  The median closing price of  Monday's Dow Jones Industrial Average was $ (CAT/XOM) up   cents from Friday's median closing price of $ (CAT/XOM).  The lowest volume was   and the highest volume was .
