IBD pB4 "Most indexes drop, erase moreof their recent gains" by Victor Reklaitis says stocks took anotehr step back Tues erasing some recent gains as troubled Cyprus showed no signs of fixing its problems. Tuesday's action saw most indexes fall as trade rises and the current outlook is still a confirmed uptrend.

Tuesday's Dow Jones Industrial Average closing numerator was 1,882.38 up 0.49 from Monday's closing numerator of 1,881.89. This is the sum of all 30 closing prices. A short cut to the Dow numerator is to multiply the closing Dow by the Divisor. Now, if you divide the Dow numerator change for today by the divisor (0.130216081) you get the change in today's Dow. 3/19/13 Tuesday 4:13 pm MarketWatch by Kate Gibson says U.S. stocks indexes finished mixed on Tuesday as Wall Street considered the ramifications of developments in Cyprus and the fate of a proposal to tax bank deposits to help fund a bailout of the island nation. "Unless there are knock-off effects, or contagion to other European counties, the declines in the U.S. stock market will be relatively limited," said Jim Russell, senior equity strategist for U.S. Bank Wealth Management. "Many are looking for a price break to get more involved in the stock market. There is a buy-the-dip mentality that may be in place," he added. The Dow Jones Industrial AverageDJIA +0.03% added 3.76 points to 14,455.82. Extending losses into a third day, its longest such streak since late December, the S&P 500 SPX -0.24% fell 3.76 points, or 0.2%, to 1,548.34.
