Toward the end of this Blog is a list of the Dow 30 current CEOs, and a ranking of the Dow 30 components by market capitalization as of April 1, 2013 and recent Dow 30 components' SEC filings as of April 1, 2013.
A read of the print editions of Friday's Wall St. Journal, Financial Times, Investor's Business Daily, New York Times, USA Today, Atlanta Journal Constitution & Daily Report (Ga. - carries Bloomberg) yielded the following stories about Dow Jones Industrial Average 30 component companies and the Dow with stories about the Dow aggregated first and then items about Dow Jones Industrial Average 30 companies presented alphabetically, followed by a separate table of Dow component's symbol and Thursday's stock prices and related data in alphabetical order.

IBD pB 2 "Stock indexes score gains, but nasdaq shows stalling" by Paul Whitfield says stocks advanced Thurs bu the Nasdaq showed distrubing technical action. News of weak PC sales sent Microsoft down more than 4% in triple its usual volume. thursday's action was up inn mixed volume; stalling on Nasdaq as the current outlook is still a confirmed uptrend. On Fri JPMorgan reports 1Q results before the market's open and analysts expect earnings to rise 17% to $1.39 a share.
NYT pB7 "Market climbs higher as jobless claims slip" by Reuters says the stock market rose for a 4th straight day as positive data on the labor market and an encouraging retial outlook eased recent concerns about economic growth.
AJC pA13 "Dkow now up 13% for year" by AP says the market's record setting rise up 13%, the S&P up almost 12% and Nasdaq up 9.3%.
As of the open of the market on Friday the current divisor for the Dow Jones Industrial Average found at page C5 of today's Wall St. Journal is 0.130216081. Friday's trailing P/E ratio is 16.28 up from yesterday's P/E ratio of 16.21 (year ago it was 14.37); today's P/E estimate is 13.05 unchanged from Thursday' s P/E estimate of 13.05 (year ago it was 12.55) and today's dividend yield is 2.40 down from yesterday's dividend yield of 2.41 (last year it was 2.52). The Dow's all-time high was 14,865.14 on April 11, 2013. The 12 year low close for the Dow was on March 9, 2009 when it fell to 6,547.05.
Thursday's Dow Jones Industrial Average closing numerator was 1,935.68 up 8.19 from Wednesday's closing numerator of 1,927.49. This is the sum of all 30 closing prices. A short cut to the Dow numerator is to multiply the closing Dow by the Divisor. Now, if you divide the Dow numerator change for today by the divisor (0.130216081) you get the change in today's Dow. A dollar increase or decrease in a Dow stock results in a $7.68 change in the Dow Index.
The average closing price (the closing numerator divided by 30) of Thursday's Dow Jones Industrial Average was $64.52 up 27 cents from Wednesday's average of $64.25. The median closing price of Thursday's Dow Jones Industrial Average was $61.75 (DIS/UNH) up 49 cents from Wednesday's median closing price of $61.26. The lowest volume was Travelers and the highest volume again was Bank of America.
If Thursday morning before the market opened you had purchased 100 shares of each of the Dow Jones Industrial Average 30 shares (assuming you could buy fractional shares and assuming no transaction costs or dividends) and sold at the close you would have made $819 ($193,568 - $192,749).

Telecom and healthcare stocks led gains for nine of 10 S&P 500 sectors. Retail stocks were also strong, while tech was the only laggard as PC-related stocks were hit on a report of falling demand.
